Nevada girls top seed in Carthage tourney

The Nevada Lady Tiger basketball team is the top seed in the 12th Annual Lady Tiger Invitational to be held in Carthage Jan. 2-6.
Nevada will play fourth-seeded Nixa and fifth-seeded Carl Junction in round-robin play of the six team field.
The other schools are Neosho (second seed), Carthage (third) and the Carthage junior varsity (sixth).
The top two teams after round robin play will be placed in the championship game Jan. 6, with a third place game and a fifth place game also taking place.
Nevada will play the opening game of the tournament Tuesday, Jan. 2, against Nixa at 6 p.m.
The other game that day will place Carthage against the Carthage JV.
Nixa plays Carl Junction Thursday, Jan. 4, and Neosho plays the Carthage JV. Nevada does not play that day.
The Lady Tigers then play Carl Junction Friday, Jan. 5, at 6 p.m. The other game that day is Neosho against the Carthage varsity.
The championship game Jan. 6 is at 8 p.m.
