Doris Hines

Doris Hines, age 91, of Joplin, Mo., formerly of the Metz, Hume, area passed away Feb. 28, 2007, at Freeman Hospital Joplin, Mo. She was born Oct. 3, 1915, in Foster, Mo., the daughter of Truman and Hazel Journey Kratzer.

Doris was a member of the Hume Methodist Church. She was united in marriage to Everett Wesley Hines on April 15, 1937, in Nevada, Mo., and to this union one son, Roger was born. Doris worked for the Metz Banking Company for 33 years as a teller and later became vice president and served on the board of directors till 2006.

She is survived by one son, Roger and wife Deana Hines, Asbury, Mo.; four grandchildren, Justine, Chance, Hailey and Hope; three stepgrandchildren, Chris Newman, Kim Hines and Brooke Brown; two brothers, Jack Kratzer, Kansas City, Mo., and Dean Kratzer, St. Ann, Mo.; and many nieces and nephews.

Doris was preceded in death by her husband on Feb. 24, 2000; her parents and one brother, Truman.

Funeral services will be held Friday, March 2, at 2 p.m., at the Hume Methodist Church, Hume, Mo., with burial in the Salem Cemetery, Foster, Mo.

The family suggests memorial contributions to the Hume Methodist Church in care of the Heuser Funeral Home, Rich Hill, Mo.
