Tiger tennis undone by Liberators

BOLIVAR -- The Nevada Tigers lost three matches within three points and couldn't overcome the Bolivar Liberators in tennis action Thursday.
Ryan Kimbrough won at No. 1 singles and the team of Kimbrough and Jake Holmes won at No. 2 doubles, but that was all Nevada could muster as they fell 7-2.
Kimbrough beat Brady Fox 9-7, then teamed with Holmes to defeat Fox and Caleb Spindler 8-2 in doubles play.
Spindler returned the favor at No. 2 singles, beating Holmes 8-2.
At No. 3 singles, Devin Ozkal lost a tightly contested match with Grant Haun, 9-8 (10-8).
James Smith battled but couldn't overcome Ryan Whitlock at No. 4 singles, falling 8-5.
The same score victimized Taylor Chapman at No. 5 singles, as he lost to Garret Shelenhamer.
At No. 6 singles, Ethan Holmes lost to Chad Bowlus 8-1.
In doubles play, Ozkal and Chapman took on Haun and Shelenhamer at No. 2, falling 8-2.
Smith and Ethan Holmes faced Whitlock and Bowlus at No. 3, falling 8-3.
Terren Masters played a pair of junior varsity matches for the Tigers, losing both to Dustin Glor.
Nevada is scheduled to host Fort Scott today at the NHS courts, weather permitting.
