Nevada Lady Tiger golfers win

Tuesday, September 18, 2007

The Nevada Lady Tiger golf team hosted Girard, Uniontown and Seneca at the Frank E. Peters Municipal Golf Course on Monday afternoon.

The temperature had increased back to its normal late-summer warmth and the brisk winds blew across the Par 36 front nine, to make the links a bit more challenging for all the golfers.

The Lady Tigers won the team competition by 70 strokes over second place Girard. The Nevada Lady Tigers shot a team total of 210, out-distancing second place Girard by 70 strokes, with their team total of 280. Uniontown followed for third with a 302 and Seneca with a 308.

Nevada Senior Heather Klingaman led all scores with a 49. This was the third match in a row that Heather has won the low medalist honors. Heather was followed by a pair of 51's shot by a duo of Nevada Lady Tigers, sophomore Melea Galimberto and junior, Chelsea Turner. Other Nevada scores included Emily DeBrine with a 59, Chalene Fecht and Jessica Mosbrucker both with a 64's.

Nevada's next competition will be Tuesday at the Frank E. Peters Municipal Golf Course hosting Carl Junction and Buffalo starting at 3:45. Nevada then travels to Clinton at the Clinton Country Club on Thursday this week.
