Only three of the original four teams could make-up the Clinton Tournament that was postponed because of rain three weeks ago. Nevada struggled against Warsaw in their first game. The Lady Tigers got behind early and a good Warsaw team (16-2) kept Nevada at bay. Warsaw used only five hits to get the nine runs as six Nevada errors hurt the Tigers. Senior Kate Brier singled for the Lady Tigers' only hit. Rachel Kennedy took the loss in the circle but had eight strikeouts. Nevada (8-11) recovered nicely as they defeated Clinton for second place. Kennedy and Mary Ann Kennon led the Tigers' 14 hit attack with three hits each. Kennedy hit Nevada's first home run of the season. The two-run shot cleared the left field fence. Brier, Megan Ray, and Sabrina Jones chipped in with two hits apiece. The speedy Ray also stole three bases. Kennedy struck out 11 and allowed one hit against the Cardinals.

The Tigers open district play against McDonald County Wednesday at Carl Junction.
