Cottey College to host its fourth annual women's college fair on campus, Oct. 23

Cottey College will host its fourth annual women's college fair from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 23, in the Haidee and Allen Wild Center for the Arts.

The women's college fair provides a forum that promotes outstanding educational opportunities for young women.

Women's colleges from across the United States will speak with prospective students and their parents that evening during the fair. The following colleges and universities plan to attend: Agnes Scott College, Chatham College, College of Notre Dame of Maryland, College of Saint Mary, Columbia College, Hollins University, Mary Baldwin College, Meredith College, Mills College, Mount Holyoke College, Mount Mary College, Peace College, Rosemont College, Saint Mary College, Salem College, Stephens College, Sweet Briar College, and Wesleyan College.

The event is free and open to the public. Cottey College's Center for the Arts is located on the northeast corner of Austin Boulevard and Tower Street in Nevada.

Cottey College is an independent, two-year women's college located in Nevada, approximately two hours south of Kansas City and one hour north of Joplin, Mo. Its residential student capacity of 350 typically represents 40 states and 12-14 foreign countries. The College is owned by the P.E.O. Sisterhood, a philanthropic educational organization of approximately 250,000 members, making Cottey the only nonsectarian college in the U.S. owned and supported by women for women. Cottey is a transfer institution offering liberal arts and sciences for women. Ninety-five percent of Cottey College graduates transfer to four-year colleges and universities throughout the United States and around the world.
