Christopher B. Whitehead
Christopher B. Whitehead, 59, of Arma, died at 9:04 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 3, 2007, at Mt. Carmel Regional Medical Center, at Pittsburg, Kan.
Mr. Whitehead was born on April 22, 1949, at Nevada, the son of Julius Alfred and Ardelle Holler Whitehead. Chris was a retired businessman. Chris was raised at Nevada, and graduated from Nevada High School in 1966. He later attended Southwest Missouri University and received a degree in marketing. He later was owner and operator of Vic's Boot Shop in Pittsburg, from 1986 to 2001. He married Vicki Guerrieri on April 15, 1978, at Kansas City, Mo. Vicki survives at the home. Additional survivors include two daughters, Kristen Rank, and her husband John, of Arma, and Maegan Easter and her husband Kale, of Lawrence, Kan.; his mother, Ardelle Whitehead, of Springfield; one sister, Janice Williams, and her husband Tim, of Springfield; a half sister, Michal Koehly, of Chillicothe, Mo.; and one brother, David Whitehead, and his wife Beth, of Woodstock, Georgia.
Chris was preceded in death by his father, Julius Alfred Whitehead.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m., Tuesday, Nov. 6, at the Bedene Funeral Home at Arma, with the Rev. Steve Cole officiating. Burial will be at the Crocker Cemetery, south of Pittsburg. The family will received friends from 6 to 7 p.m., Monday at the Bedene Chapel where friends could call after 11 a.m. The family suggests memorials to the American Kidney Foundation.
