Al Hill

Al Hill, age 84, Springfield, died Monday, Nov. 19, 2007. He was born Dec. 1, 1922 in Tehuacana, Texas, the son of William Al and Ruth B. (Potter) Hill.

Al served his country in the United States Navy during World War II. He was a member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church, Nixa. Al was also a member of the Marmaton Masonic Lodge No. 245, Moran, Kan.

Survivors include: his wife, Joan Pittman-Hill, Springfield; three children, Mark Hill, Cameron, Mo., Cynthia Jones and husband Coy, Carl Junction, and Cathy Tanner and husband Tom, Tulsa; two stepchildren, Neil Pittman and wife Judy, Springfield and Nedra King, Springfield; a brother, Bill Hill and wife Mary Catherine, Phoenix; six grandchildren; 11 step grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; and 22 step great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Marvis Jean Hill; a granddaughter, Lori Ann Walker; and three brothers, Joe, J.P., and Ralph Hill.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, Dec.1, at Aldersgate United Methodist Church, Nixa, under direction of Adams Funeral Home, Nixa with Dennis Miller officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Aldersgate United Methodist Church Building Fund.
