Many area schools, groups, report cancellations for Tuesday and Wednesday

Several area schools are closed today, including Nevada R-5 schools, Sheldon, Bronaugh, Lamar, Liberal and El Dorado Springs public schools, Calvary Christian School in Nevada, Cedar Ridge State School in Nevada, Rich Hill Head Start, classes at Crowder College in Nevada, day classes at Missouri Welding Institute, the Primary Learning Place preschool in Nevada and Nevada Head Start.

Several other cancellations have been reported.

* The Osage Prairie YMCA Bridge Party has been rescheduled for the evening of Tuesday, Dec. 18.

* The Sheldon vs. Bronaugh basketball games have been postponed.

* The Nevada Regional Medical Center Transportation Vans will not be running Tuesday.

* Square dance lessons scheduled for tonight, hosted by the Mo-Kan Square Dance Club have been canceled.

* Tonight's Nevada boys and girls basketball games against Girard, Kan., have been rescheduled for this Thursday, Dec. 13. The previously scheduled Nevada girls basketball game at Harrisonville for Thursday also will be rescheduled, if possible.

* Tonight's Nevada Lady Tiger swim meet at Webb City has been postponed.

* Tonight's Nevada Tiger wrestling match at Neosho has been postponed.

* Tonight's Rich Hill vs. Hume basketball games are postponed.

Some Wednesday events also have been canceled, including the Nevada Habitat for Humanity potato luncheon and Wednesday night's bingo event at the Nevada Eagles Lodge.
