Carnival begins tonight
An employee from Joplin-based Pride Amusements, bringing its show to Nevada for the first time, constructs the track for the Dragon, a small roller coaster in the kids' carnival area in the lot at Washington and Walnut, where there are also games and other rides, including the ever-popular carousel, a giant, spiral slide and more. The carnival opens today and runs through Saturday night. Armbands can be purchased daily for $20, with the carnival opening at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. On Saturday, armbands are valid from 1 to 5 p.m. Rides for adults are on Hunter between Cedar and Main. Attractions include a ferris wheel, the Avalanche, a half dozen spinning thrill rides, a funhouse, games and more.
