Pearce endorsed by MSTA
Republican State Senate Candidate for the 31st District David Pearce's commitment to education in Missouri was recognized today when he received the endorsement of the Missouri State Teacher's Association.
"I believe that every child deserves a quality education and I want to thank the Missouri State Teachers Association for recognizing my efforts in the Legislature on behalf of our students," said Pearce, who served on a House committee to rewrite the foundation funding formula. "I am committed to keep fighting for our students as a member of the Missouri Senate and working with outstanding organizations like the MSTA to help improve education."
The Missouri State Teachers Association is the leading education organization in the state, with more than 44,000 members and over 150 years of service to Missouri educators.
"MSTA made the endorsement based on David Pearce's stance on education issues and his strong voting record in support of education," said MSTA President Linda Schnakenberg, who teaches in the Holden R-3 School District. "David Pearce has a good understanding of the issues facing teacher, students and parents and we know he will support our schools. He has experience that will benefit our students and schools."
MSTA endorsements are designed to assist educators and concerned citizens in determining quality education candidates. Endorsements are made after a review of the candidate's voting record or an interview if the candidate has no record.
