Lady Tiger golf team takes third at Girard Invitational

The Nevada Lady Tigers golf team participated in the Girard Invitational Tuesday morning.

The Lady Tigers placed third out of the 11 teams that were present for the tournament, but the event could not be fully completed due to rain. The tournament started at 9 a.m., and about two hours and nine holes in, had to be called off for the weather.

Junior Melea Galimberto placed third overall for Nevada, finishing the nine holes with a score of 50, just three strokes out of the top spot. Nevada finished the tournament with a total combined score of 224, 12 strokes behind the tournament winner.

The Lady Tigers will be off for the remainder of the week and will be in competition again on Tuesday against Seneca.
