Lady Tiger tennis shuts out Fort Scott

The Nevada Lady Tiger tennis team competed against Fort Scott Tuesday afternoon with distinct success.

The Lady Tigers were able to take down Fort Scott by a final score of 9-0 in the match, taking shutout victories in all but two singles contests along with both doubles matches. Whitley Del Rosario, Cheyenne Whitson, Leah Creasy and Caitlin Wagner all notched shutouts in their singles match wins.

Katlyn Short and Ashley McKinley came up just short of shutting their opponents out, picking up 8-1 victories over Kelsie Hess and Ashlyn Bauer, respectively. Short and Del Rosario picked up a shutout in doubles play that was followed by the same feat by the team of Whitson and McKinley.

The Lady Tigers are scheduled to be in competition again tonight as they head to Joplin for the Thomas Jefferson Invitational before coming home for their final two matches of the year on Monday and Tuesday.
