Nevada Middle School volleyball sweeps Lamar

Thursday, October 2, 2008

The Nevada Middle School seventh and eighth grade volleyball teams competed at Lamar Tuesday night.

Lamar was able to stay competitive in both of the seventh grade matches, but Nevada was still able to pull of the win. The B team took down Lamar in two sets 25-16, 25-15 while the A team needed three sets to pull of the win by a final score of 25-15, 20-25, 25-17.

The eighth grade teams had similar luck for Nevada. Neither team allowed Lamar to get into double digits in the first set as both of Nevada's eighth grade teams took the first set by a score of 25-7. Both of Lamar's teams fared much better in set two, but the Tigers' A team was still able to pull off a 25-23 win while the B team took the second set 25-14.

The Tigers are scheduled to be in action again tonight as both the seventh and eighth grade teams host Joplin North.
