Tire smashes into bus

A Northeast Vernon County R-1 school bus was struck by a tire that came off of a dump truck headed the opposite direction on U.S. 54 Highway approximately a mile east of Walker corner. No one was injured in the accident. Vernon County Deputy Dan Miller speaks to the driver of the tow truck while NEVC superintendent Charles Naas speaks to a Missouri State Highway Patrol trooper investigating the accident. --Steve Moyer/Daily Mail

I want to say a big Thank You to Larry Buckles for a job well done. However, for the school it would have been very thoughtful of them to have notify the parents whom had kids on that bus to assure them that their child was okay. Calls were made to the school by some parents (four times) and no answer at four differnt extention. Notes were sent home at the end of the day, accident happened in the 11:00 hour, but again Thanks again to Larry.
