Sporting events postponed

Thursday, April 30, 2009

Due to the continuing wet weather, Nevada High School has once again been forced to postpone a series of sporting events this week.

The Tigers varsity baseball team is set to make up Monday's contest against Carl junction that was rained out on Saturday at 1 p.m., weather permitting. The freshman squad was scheduled to be in action at home Thursday afternoon, but that game was also rained out and has not been rescheduled.

The varsity, JV and freshman teams are all set to be in action again tomorrow, weather permitting as the varsity and JV squads head to Fort Scott, Kan., and the freshmen will host Joplin.

The Nevada High School boys' golf team was scheduled to be in action at Butler today, but that contest has been indefinitely postponed as well. That was scheduled to be the last regular season match of the season for the Tigers.

Any further information about possible rescheduling efforts for these events will be reported as soon as it becomes available.
