Red Sox split Carl Junction

Friday, June 26, 2009

The Nevada Red Sox AAA squad headed back out on the road Wednesday and came home with a split of the evening doubleheader against Carl Junction at Joe Becker Stadium in Joplin.

Jerrod Alexander pitched the first five innings of game one and allowed just three runs -- all unearned -- but simply didn't get any run support. The Red Sox ultimately lost the game by a final score of 3-1.

Colby Shepherd was able to get much better run support on his way to picking up the win in the second game of the night. Chris Harris came on to close out the game, earning the save as the Red Sox took the victory by a final score of 7-4.

Nevada's AAA club is scheduled to be in action again tonight as they head back out on the road again to square off with Neosho before returning home on Monday to square off against Seneca.
