Everett Ruben Hope
Everett Ruben Hope, 77, of Bronaugh, Mo., passed away on Friday, Aug. 14, 2009, at the Nevada Regional Medical Center following an illness of several months. Everett was born on Aug. 25, 1931, in Bronaugh to Jaxie and Bessie (Willard) Hope. On Aug. 1, 1950, he was married in Nevada, to Patricia Ann Allen, and she survives of the home. Everett spent his entire lifetime in the Bronaugh area where he farmed. He served several years on the Water Board for District No. 1 at Moundville. He also was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church of Nevada where he had served as deacon.
Survivors in addition to his wife Pat, include one son, LeRoy Hope and his wife Judy of Versailles, Mo.; his daughter, Debby Patton, of Grandview, Mo.; an adopted daughter, Ronda Bailey and her husband Roger, of Fort Scott; four grandchildren, David Hope and his wife Amanda, of Fortuna, Mo., Miranda Steffen and her husband Mike, of Lee's Summit, Mo., Kayla Roberts and her husband Ryan, of Peculiar, Mo., and Taylor Bailey of Fort Scott; six great-grandchildren, Matthew, Kristi, and Kyle, of Fortuna, Mo., and Melody, McKenna, and Mae Steffen of Lee's Summit; and one sister, Wilma Foster of Nevada.
Everett was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Marie Adams and Mable Bailey.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., today, at Ferry Funeral Home in Nevada with Hubert Fox officiating. Interment will follow in the Worsley Cemetery, Bronaugh. Friends may call now until the hour of service today and the family will receive friends from 6:30 p.m.--8 p.m., Monday at the funeral home.
