Seventh grade volleyball wins final two matches

The Nevada Middle School volleyball A and B teams concluded their regular season with two very strong performances this week.

On Monday, the Tigers hosted Joplin East in one of their toughest matches of the season. In the B game, Joplin was able to stay close, but still ultimately ended up on the short end of both sets, losing 25-18 and 25-19.

In the A match, Nevada showed a much more dominant performance, allowing just 19 total points in the two sets combined. Joplin was able to put on a much better showing in the second set than the opener, but was still no match for Nevada as they fell in both sets by the scores of 25-7 and 25-12.

On Tuesday, Nevada took on Lamar in the final match of the regular season. Much like the night before, Nevada didn't get much of a challenge out of the opposition, winning both matches in two sets.

The B team wasted little time dispatching Lamar by the final scores of 25-10 and 25-11, while the A team showed a similar performance, winning 25-10 and 25-9. The A team finished the season with a near perfect record of 9-1, while the B team completed their undefeated season at 10-0.

The A team is now set to head to a Tri-County postseason tournament at Joplin East Middle School on Oct. 12 and 13.
