Workers prepare Radio Springs light display

Saturday, November 7, 2009
Aaron Lofquest, left, and Don Wolfe, Nevada Parks and Recreation Department, wrap a light rope on a gate at Radio Springs Park. Work on installing the annual drive-through light display around Radio Springs Lake is well under way and the park is closed to drive-through traffic. The lighting of the Mayor's Christmas Tree is scheduled for Nov. 25, at 6 p.m.; and after that the light display will be open daily from 5:30 p.m., weather permitting. There will be no charge to drive through the display; however, donations will be accepted with half the proceeds going to the volunteer organization manning the booth each night and the other half going to the parks department. --Ralph Pokorny/Herald-Tribune
