Columbia Trio to perform at PSU
The Columbia Piano Trio, all trained at the Eastman School of Music and all members of the music faculty at the University of Oregon, will present at concert at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 13, in McCray Recital Hall on the Pittsburg State University campus.
The concert is part of PSU's Solo and Chamber Music Series.
The trio is composed of pianist David Riley, violinist Fritz Gearhart, and cellist Andrew Kolb. Riley has performed throughout the U.S. and Canada and has been featured on dozens of radio broadcasts throughout North America.
Riley, along with violinist Jasper Wood, received the 2004 East Coast Music Award for best classical recording for a CD of the works of Igor Stravinsky. Gearhart has performed widely throughout the U.S. and has several CDs to his credit.
Kolb has performed throughout North America and Europe and is known for his commitment to new music.
Tickets for the concert are $10 for the general public and $7 for persons over 65 or under 18. Full-time PSU students are entitled to a free ticket. Tickets are available in advance through the PSU Ticket Office in the Overman Student Center or at the door prior to the performance.
The Solo and Chamber Music Series is supported by major funding from the PSU Student Government Association.
