Betty (Hutchison) Bartkoski
Betty (Hutchison) Bartkoski, age 78, of El Dorado Springs, Mo., passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Nov., 24, 2009, at Cedar County Memorial Hospital. She was born in Vernon County, Missouri on Oct. 4, 1931, to Walter and Ruby (Whitley) Hutchison.
Betty was united in marriage to Joseph Edward Bartkoski on Jan. 18, 1948. Together they had 15 children and raised one grandson while living in Nevada, Phoenix, Ariz., and later El Dorado Springs. After moving to El Dorado Springs, Betty worked at Community Springs Healthcare Facility for 20 years. She was a member of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church.
Preceding Betty in death were: her parents, one granddaughter, one son-in-law, one sister Norma Horning, and her loving husband Joe.
Betty is survived by three sisters, Marvalene Troyer, of Shawnee Mission, Kan., Emily Reynolds, of Warsaw, Mo., and Wanda Hulett of Kansas City, Mo.; two brothers, Robert Hutchison, of Walker, Mo., and Donald Hutchison, of Nevada; 15 children, Tom Bartkoski, of Lake Stevens, Wash; Patricia Many, of Ozark, Mo., Virginia Binder, of Humansville, Mo., Barbara Jessup, of Grand Junction, Colo., Margaret Sherman, of Glendale, Ariz., Beverly Schroeder, of Hamilton, Mont., Jodi Cauthon, of El Dorado Springs, Rosemary Turner, of Milo, Mo., Edward Bartkoski of El Dorado Springs, Eileen Gooden, of Montevallo, Mo., Kathy Porter, of Sikeston, Mo., Carolyn Crisp of Hollister, Mo., Becky Collins of El Dorado Springs, Betty Jo Convery, of Normal, Ill., and Jeff Bartkoski of Springfield, Mo., and grandson Christopher Binder of Buckeye, Ariz.; 38 other grandchildren; and 33 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are many other friends, relatives, and extended family members.
The family of Betty Bartkoski will receive friends at Bland-Hackleman Funeral Home on Friday, Nov. 27, from 6-7 p.m. Funeral services will be held at Bland-Hackleman Chapel on Saturday, Nov. 28, at 10 a.m., with Fr. Basil Doan officiating. Interment will follow in Mount Vernon Cemetery under the direction of Bland-Hackleman Funeral Home. Betty's grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations in memory of Betty Bartkoski may be made to St. Elizabeth Catholic Church.
