Tourism Department to begin grant application process

The Nevada Tourism Department has announced the opening date for acceptance of 2010 Tourism Grants.

Starting Tuesday, Feb. 16, the applications will be available in the Tourism Department Nevada/Vernon County Area Chamber of Commerce office, located in the lower level of the Carnegie Building, 225 West Austin.

The application will also be available on the chamber of commerce printable event form site, found at www.nevada-mo.com.

All applications must be returned by 2 p.m. March 16, to the chamber of commerce office for consideration. Interview times will be assigned at receipt of application.

The Tourism Department is interested, in particular, in grant applications that help off-season and start-up events that promote overnight stays in Nevada or Vernon County, according to a news release issued earlier this week.
