Eighth grade basketball defeats Joplin North

ANDERSON, Mo. -- The Nevada Middle School eighth grade boys' basketball A team got off to a strong start in the Tri-County tournament at McDonald County Middle School Tuesday night as they took on Joplin North.

The Tigers got off to a strong start in the contest and had little trouble keeping that momentum going as they cruised to a 64-16 victory. Grant Wolfe led the offensive effort with 19 points. Eight other Tigers got into the scoring column on the night.

With that win, the Tigers improved to 10-2 on the year and were scheduled to take on Carthage Thursday night.
