The Nevada Tigers tennis team got the week off to a rough start with two consecutive home matches. On Tuesday, the Tigers hosted interstate rivals Fort Scott before taking on Monett the very next night. Both matches ended in similar fashion as the Tigers were on the short end of a 7-2 score on both days.

In Monday's match against the Tigers of Fort Scott, senior Dominic Habjan needed a tiebreaker to defeat Charlie Sercer 9-8 (14-12). Habjan and Tyler Dobson picked up Nevada's only other win of the day in doubles competition as they took down Kai Simmons-Mims and Dustin Willard 8-6.

On Tuesday, Habjan kept his undefeated season going as he picked up one of the Tigers' two victories in the No. 1 singles match against Monett's Al Dohmen 8-1. The other win for the Tigers came in the No. 4 singles match when Josh Lowry defeated Caleb McCurry 8-6.

With those matches, the Tigers' record currently stands at 1-2 on the year. The next action for the Tigers is set for Monday when they travel to Joplin High School.
