Brewer and Shipley, above, entertained the crowd at Shooter's in Nevada, Saturday evening with folk songs from the '60s and some from later in their career. The two are both originally from the Midwest, Tom Shipley from Ohio and Michael Brewer from Oklahoma, but the two both live in Missouri today. Shipley lives in Rolla where he is on the staff of the Missouri University of Science & Technology, Brewer lives near Branson. Although the crowd was small, those who attended seemed pleased with the performances on the stage. The two have released two albums, "Shanghai" and "Heartland," since a reunion in Kansas City in 1989 and Brewer is also solo recording, his latest release, "It Is What It Is," as well as the duo's albums, which is available for purchase on the Web site, www.brewerandshipley.com. -- photos by Steve Moyer/Daily Mail

Local singer and guitarist Matt Harper entertained the crowd before the Brewer and Shipley concert Saturday at Shooter's in Nevada, one of a small group of entertainers providing folk music to help warm up the crowd for a rare appearance from the well-known duo. The '60s-era duo performed indoors but Harper and the other pre-show entertainers performed on a stage set up in the parking lot.
