Tigers tennis competes at Thomas Jefferson Invitational
Two Nevada Tigers tennis players earned medals in the Thomas Jefferson Invitational tournament Friday.
Thomas Jefferson won the tournament with an overall team total of 19.5 points, followed by Joplin at 16.5 and Webb City at 15. Carthage, 10, and Springfield Catholic, 8, rounded out the top five. The Tigers of Nevada finished eighth.
Two Tigers earned medals in the tournament as the No. 2 doubles team of Doug DeCocq and Aaron Jenkins took fifth place in their bracket. They were defeated by Joplin, 8-0, in the first round and went on to beat Neosho 8-3 before taking down Carthage 8-6 in the fifth place match.
The Tigers were scheduled to be in action again today as they are set to host the Tigers of Carthage.
