Nevada Red Sox fall to Aurora
The Nevada Red Sox AAA baseball squad suffered yet another loss Wednesday night -- this time at the hands of the Aurora Hound Dawgs.
Both teams put up a strong offensive performance and the Hound Dawgs ultimately needed eight innings instead of the scheduled seven to pull out a one-run victory by a final score of 11-10. Red Sox starting pitcher Ross Means suffered his first lost of the season as he gave up six runs in four innings of work.
Kohlten Wilson led the offensive effort for the Red Sox, going 3-for-4 at the plate with a double and three RBIs. Grant Wolfe pinch hit in the top of the seventh inning and drove in the go-ahead run with a triple before Wilson's two-run single gave the Red Sox a three-run lead at 10-7 heading into the home half of the frame.
The Hound Dawgs went on to tie the game with a three-run seventh inning before going on to take the victory in eight.
The next action for the Red Sox is scheduled for this weekend as they host the Champion Diamonds tournament.
