NRMC Foundation to host Red Carpet Gala
Rare occasions in Nevada present the opportunity to dress up, enjoy fine dining and extraordinary entertainment, save a wedding here and there. Of course, that is with the exception of the NRMC Foundation annual gala.
Last year, the Foundation hosted the Gone Country Gala, the highest attended in its history, beginning 2006. The purpose of the gala is to recognize outstanding contribution to the service of Nevada Regional Medical Center as well as to raise funds for the Foundation focus of the year.
The Gone Country Gala, held last October, raised $13,980 towards the Foundation 2009 capital project of purchasing new kitchen equipment and renovating the hospital cafeteria at NRMC. Dr. F.L. Thompson received the physician Award of Excellence and Allison Fast, IT Applications Analyst received the employee Award of Excellence.
This year, awards will go to several employees, physicians and donors at the Red Carpet Gala, to be held Saturday, Oct. 2, at the Nevada Elks Lodge. Nevada Elks members generously donated the use of the Elks hall to the Foundation to help offset the cost of the event. All proceeds from the Red Carpet Gala are earmarked for the purchase of a state-of-the-art infant security system for the NRMC Maternity Department.
The Red Carpet Gala will include "Flipbooks" a popular event at the Gone Country Gala, local piano players and celebrity look-alikes, cocktails, dinner, prize drawing opportunities and an Oscar-worthy awards ceremony.
Tickets will be available in September through the Foundation office. Sponsorship opportunities are available.
