Sheldon baseball defeats Bronaugh

The Sheldon High School baseball team got its fall season under way with a run-rule victory over the Wildcats of Bronaugh Monday.
Head coach Jason Irwin's Panthers used three pitchers on their way to a to a 21-9 victory in five innings. Eric Leavell picked up the win for Sheldon.
Freshman Reed Worsely went 4-for-5 at the plate and scored four runs while sophomore Taylor Belew knocked in six runs. As a team, the Panthers recorded 12 hits on the night.
With the win, the Panthers got the season started with a record of 1-0 and are set to travel to Golden City, Mo., to take on the Eagles at 4:30 p.m., tomorrow.
