Musician Maggie McClure to perform Sept. 25 at Cottey College

Musician Maggie McClure will perform at 8 p.m. in Raney Dining Room on Saturday, Sept. 25, on the Cottey College campus.

This 23-year-old singer, songwriter, and pianist from Norman, Okla., performed at more than100 colleges last year. Her unique live performance, her sincere presentation of original songs, and her creative interpretations of cover songs attract audiences of all kinds. McClure's sound is related by listeners to Norah Jones, Sarah Bareilles, and Regina Spektor. In fact, she is scheduled to open for Bareilles at Idaho State University just prior to her visit to Nevada.

According to www.normanmusicscene.com, she was named a semi-finalist in the 2007 Mountain Stage New Song Contest in Austin, Texas. She also performed at the the Norman Music Festival and at Tulsa's DFEST. both in 2009.

Tickets for Maggie McClure are $5 for adults and $4 for those under age 18 or over age 61. Tickets will be available at the door the night of the show. Raney Dining Room is located in the lower level of Robertson Hall on the southeast corner of Austin and Tower streets in Nevada. Parking is available in the lot immediately south of Robertson which is accessible off of Tower Street.
