Art is Ageless show scheduled in Fort Scott
FORT SCOTT, Kan. -- The Presbyterian Village is once again showing the world that art is ageless.
During the month of October, the Presbyterian Manors of Mid-America is celebrating the 30th anniversary of its system-wide Art is Ageless competition and exhibition.
The purpose of the program is to show that creativity does not stop as age increases, rather aging can sometimes boost a person's creativity.
Usually, the local competition is held for Presbyterian Village tenants and community members who are 65 years old or older who wish to share their artwork in the Art is Ageless calendar or greeting cards.
However, this year as part of a special anniversary celebration the PMMA calendar will feature artwork from winners throughout the 30 years of the competition. Local artists will not be left out as the Presbyterian Village will show artwork during an exhibit Oct. 18-24 at the Presbyterian Village, 2401 S. Horton, with a reception 2:30 p.m., Oct. 22.
Community members, age 65 or older who have recently created artwork may enter the exhibit by contacting Presbyterian Village Activities Coordinator Rita Peck at (620) 223-5550.
The deadline for submitting artwork for this event is Oct. 18.
