New police chief sworn in

Nevada City Clerk Annette Crews swears in Graham Burnley as Nevada's new Chief of Police last Thursday morning. Burnley, who comes to Nevada from Chesterfield, Mo., began serving Jan. 1. Burnley was a key player in establishing the Chesterfield Police Department when the city was incorporated. During his career in Chesterfield, he served as the commander of each division of their police department. Burnley is a graduate of the FBI Academy and has a master of arts degree in public administration and a bachelors degree in criminal justice management. He has been a police officer since 1974 and with the Chesterfield Police Department since 1989.
