Opal Irene Bigelow

Opal Irene Bigelow, 88, Nevada, passed away on Sunday, Jan. 9, 2011, at Medicalodge of Nevada, following a lengthy illness. She was born Aug. 12, 1922, in Ashland, Mo., to James William Simrell and Lily Vinita Collins Simrell. She was married to Kenneth Bigelow and he preceded her in death in 1984.

Survivors include two sons, Earnest Bigelow, Eureka, Ill., and Kenny Bigelow, Warsaw, Ill.; one daughter, Beverly Sue Fortuatno, Virginia Beach, Va.; seven grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 13, at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Dederick, Mo. Friends may call now and until 1:30 p.m., Thursday, at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada.
