Seventh grade basketball takes second at El Dorado Springs
EL DORADO SPRINGS, Mo. -- The Nevada Middle School seventh grade boys' basketball team took a second-place finish in the El Dorado Springs Tournament with two victories over the weekend.
On Friday, the Tigers beat Warsaw by a final score of 38-13. Derek O'Dell, Bryson Leftwich and Zach Cullison combined to lead the offensive effort with six points apiece.
On Saturday, head coach Robert Miner's squad finished the tournament with a victory over Camdenton by a final score of 39-21. Andrew Heathman led the offensive effort for Nevada in that contest with 13 points.
With those victories, the Tigers improved to 3-1 on the year and were set to host Webb City at the Franklin P. Norman City/County Community Center on Monday, but that contest was postponed due to weather.
