Council to consider fire truck lease-purchase

Weather permitting, the Nevada City Council will be holding their first meeting of February at 7 p.m. in the council chambers in the Public Safety Building, 120 S. Ash St. to consider among other items the first reading of a lease-purchase agreement for a new fire truck.

The council will also be considering the first reading of an ordinance declaring a 2001 Dodge pickup as surplus property so it may be sold and the second reading of a lease agreement with Young Iron & Metal for a 30-foot gooseneck trailer that is used for recycling purposes.

Other items on the agenda include the appointment of Ray Dean Scism to the infrastructure committee and the consideration of bids for storm siren maintenance, a scanner for the planning department and chemical bids for the golf course.
