Helen Marie James

Helen Marie James, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, passed away peacefully at 85, Feb. 9, 2011. She was born on Oct. 16, 1925, in Richards, Mo., to Ray and Nellie Kellogg, who preceded her in death. Helen loved animals and enjoyed spending time with family and friends, playing cards, bird watching and spending time outdoors.

She is survived by daughter, Pat Sink and her husband, Vaughn, Wichita, Kan.; son, Steve James and his wife, Kay, Wichita, Kan.; granddaughters, Jenni Goza and her husband, Russ, Wichita, Kan., and Tiffany McKinsey and her husband, Troy, Wichita, Kan.; grandsons, Garrett and Cooper James, of Wichita, Kan.; former husband and friend, Dr. Lester James, of Wichita, Kan.; brother, Wilbur Kellogg, of Fort Scott, Kan.; sister, Betty Noe, of Farlington, Kan.; and many nieces and nephews.

The family will have a private viewing and celebration of her life. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Helen's name to the Kansas Humane Society, 3313 N. Hillside or the C.O.P.D. Foundation at www.copdfoundation.org.
