Steve McIntosh, a field representative for U.S. Senator Roy Blunt, responds to a question from the audience during the West Central Commissioner's Association quarterly meeting held at the Four Rivers Conservation Area in northern Vernon County on Thursday. The meeting was hosted by the Vernon County Commission and about four dozen commissioners from 13 of the 20 member association attended the event. Commissioners heard information on the BRO or bridge and road project, got an update on the Road Scholar program and some information on available training. The regular business meeting was conducted, and Dick Burke of the Missouri Association of Counties brought the group up to speed on legislative issues before they adjourned for a meal catered by the Northeast Vernon County chapter of FFA and held a drawing for door prizes. Commissioners had the opportunity to take a self-guided tour of the large wildlife area while they were in the county. Left to right: David L.
