Two arrested and charged in local drug raid

On March 31, officers from the Nevada Police Department conducted an investigation into illegal drug activity in the 600 block of S. Oak resulting in the arrest of Randy Northrup, age 29, of Nevada and Georgia Morrison, age 34, of Nevada. A third suspect in the investigation remains at large.

The investigation resulted in the seizure of suspected methamphetamines, marijuana and related drug paraphernalia.

Northrup has been charged through Vernon County Circuit Court as follows:

Keeping or Maintaining a Public Nuisance (Drug House) -- C Felony

Morrison has been charged through Vernon County Circuit Court as follows:

Keeping or Maintaining a Public Nuisance (Drug House) -- C Felony.

Possession of a Controlled Substance -- C Felony.

Northrup is being held in the Vernon County jail in lieu of $25,000 bond.

Morrison is being held in the Vernon County jail in lieu of $25,000 bond.

Suspect photos will be provided on request.

I just want to say kudos to Chief Brunley and the Nevada Police Department for doing a fantastic job and working to get the drug problem under control in our city!! Also to Mr. Kehrman for bringing such a qualified leader to Nevada.

I will second mom's comments. This new police chief is really doing a wonderful job. I've been very happy with the results i've seen since he took over. Keep up the good work!

Ditto - Kudos to Chief Brunley and the Nevada Police Department. Nice to see something being done about cleaning up our town..Great job!!! Please don't stop!!
