Diggins brings home first-place medal in regional science fair

Cole Diggins represented Bronaugh R-7 in the Junior Division of the 22nd Annual Missouri Southern Regional Science Fair held on March 29-31, and received a first-place trophy and a $25 prize in the Chemistry and Biochemistry category with his entry titled, "Hedging Against the Bugs Naturally: A Study of Hedge Apples as a Effective Natural Bug Repellant."

He also received a certificate for the 2011 regional Ricoh Sustainable Development Award presented to the student whose research demonstrated the principles and technical innovations that offer the greatest potential for sustainable development. All first place category winners were nominated to compete as a Broadcom MASTER. As a Broadcom MASTER, Cole is eligible to register and complete an on-line application to compete nationally for valuable prizes and awards.
