Hoagland to attend FBLA national conference

Members of the Northeast Vernon County Future Business Leaders of America Chapter recently attended the 2011 Missouri FBLA Leadership Conference April 17-19, in Columbia, and Spencer Hoagland will attend the National Leadership Conference in Orlando, Fla., in June.
Delegates representing NEVC school in the state competitive leadership awards program were Spencer Hoagland in Word Processing II and Business Procedures, Josh Bachand in Personal Finance and James Manes in Networking Concepts and Computer Problem Solving. Winning recognition at the state conference were Spencer Hoagland, second place in Word Processing II; and James Manes, 10th place in Computer Problem Solving. Other FBLA members attending the state conference were Jacob Bell, Taylor Ast, and Eric Adkins. In addition, Sheryl Hallam and Laurie Bybee are the local chapter advisers and accompanied the students to the conference.
The FBLA is a career and technical student organization for all high school students participating in business programs. More than 2,750 members and advisers representing 426 chapters throughout the state met to elect state officers, transact business of the state chapter, participate in leadership and career workshops, and compete in the state leadership awards program.
