Earnest Standlee "Earnie" Earll
Earnest Standlee "Earnie" Earll, 72, Nevada, passed away on Wednesday, May 18, 2011, at Christian Health Care in Nevada, following a lengthy illness. He was born Aug. 29, 1938, in Nevada, to Earnest W. Earll and Jean Viola Perry Earll. He married Shirley Ann Koopmann on Feb. 28, 2004, in Nevada, and she survives of the home.
Earnie grew up in Nevada and graduated from Nevada High School in 1956. He joined the Navy Sea Bees and served in the U.S. Navy from 1957-'61. When he returned to Nevada, he worked for Maxwell's Grocery for 26 years, owned and operated Earll's Meat Market and Ice Company for eight years, and worked for the Nevada Housing Authority for 13 years.
In addition to his wife, Shirley, he is survived by his stepson, Charlie Holland and his wife, Tena, Nevada; one stepgrandson, Chandler Holland, Nevada; and three brothers, Joe Earll and his wife, Mary, Springfield, Mo., Jim Earll and his wife, Twila, Nevada, and Leroy Earll and his wife, Jana, Pierce City, Mo. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Imogene Branham.
A memorial service with military honors will be held at 1 p.m., Monday, May 23, at Ferry Funeral Home, 301 S. Washington, Nevada. A private committal service will follow at Fort Scott National Cemetery, Fort Scott, Kan.
