Man struck by train in Barton County Aug. 28 identified

A man struck by a Burlington-Northern train at about 2:40 a.m., Aug. 28, at the crossing on southeast 30th Road just east of southeast 30th Lane in Barton County has been identified as 24-year-old Timothy A. Forst of Carl Junction.

According to a press release from the Barton County Sheriff's Office, emergency crews who responded to the 911 call found Forst already deceased.

A joint investigation involving the Barton County Sheriff's Office, the Missouri State Highway Patrol and Barton County Coroner determined the incident to be accidental.
