Shopping event this week aimed at raising awareness of what Nevada has to offer
"Just get out and go someplace you haven't been; see something you haven't seen," in Nevada.
That's the whole purpose behind a grass roots community event that's the brainchild of Nevada's biggest grass roots promoter, Doug Harper.
Intended as a fun way to get local people to see more of what Nevada has to offer and to shop locally, the city-wide shopping day and music fest. Today, Friday and Saturday, local residents are urged to get out and about in Nevada. A map marking the locations of local businesses of interest that are featured on www.experiencenevadamo.com, a Web site meant to be a grass roots gateway to the community, is available at Cash 'N' Dash locations in Nevada; but Harper's quick to add that other businesses are just as worthy of a visit, even though they might not be marked on the map. The Web site, Harper said, is just another way for people to find what they want in Nevada; one more connection tying the community together.
On Saturday, at 8 p.m., Eric Lane Gulliford will perform "unplugged" at the Armadillo Sound Studio on the east side of the Square, in a two-hour acoustic performance. The $5 admission charge can be paid at the door of the studios live room located at 129 N. Main.
