Gladys Rose Burrous
Gladys Rose Burrous, 85, Nevada, passed away on Saturday, Sept. 17, 2011, at her residence. She was born May 25, 1926, in La Cygne, Kan., to Samuel Terry and Bertha Kirkendall Terry. She was married to Arvil Leroy Burrous, and he preceded her in death in January of 1979.
Mrs. Burrous was raised in La Cygne, Kan. She had lived most of her life in Linn County, Kan., until coming to Nevada, where she had lived for the past 15 years.
Survivors include four children, Linda Switlik and her husband, James, Nevada, Howard Burrous and his wife, Darlene, Tifton, Ga., Terry Burrous, Adrian, Mo., and Verna Devine, Rich Hill, Mo.; four grandchildren, Luke Burrous, Ashley Burrous, Sara Spangler and Travis Spangler; two great-grandchildren, Cash and Serenity; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; spouse; two sisters; and two brothers.
The family will receive friends at Ferry Funeral Home, 301 S. Washington, Nevada, Wednesday, Sept. 21, between 10 and 11 a.m.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, at Coffel-Schneider Funeral Home in La Cygne, Kan., with Steve Knoll officiating. Interment will follow at Jingo Cemetery in La Cygne.
