Bledsoe leads Nevada cross country at Carl Junction

CARL JUNCTION, Mo. -- Alex Bledsoe continues to lead the way for the Nevada High School cross country team.
A senior, Bledsoe took fourth place at the Carl Junction Invitational on Thursday afternoon.
Bledsoe crossed the line at 17:16.
Ryan Beaver of College Heights took first with a time of 16:37. Carthage's Charles Whitehead was second (16:48) and Chris Renteria of Monett finished third (16:52), with Bledsoe fourth.
Also for Nevada, Ben Summer was 33rd overall with a time of 18:45 and Dalton Shunkwiler was 35th (18:56). David Vickers finished 68th (21:09) and Sam Eador was 71st (21:29).
Carthage won the team title. Nevada finished fifth in the 13-team field.
The Tigers head to Southwest next week in the final meet before the postseason.
JV results
Max Daniel finished seventh in the JV boys 2500 meter race at Carl Junction, crossing the line at 9:40. Kieran Cain was 18th (11:40).
Middle school
Nevada's John Quitno was 40th in the middle school 2500 on Thursday with a time of 10:26.
