James G. Birney Marquis, his wife, Sarah Elizabeth West and their daughter, Estella "Stella" Marquis stand in the post office in Schell City, some time around 1912. Stella published the Schell City News. She helped her parents in the post office in Schell City. James G. Birney Marquis was postmaster from Aug. 21, 1897, to Oct. 1, 1912.
