Ida Louise Lasley
Ida Louise Lasley, 89, Pittsburg, Kan., formerly of Nevada, passed away Sunday, Oct. 16, 2011, at Sunset Manor in Frontenac, Kan. She was born May 1, 1922, in El Dorado Springs, Mo., to Maupin L. Jennings and Mary H. Remer Jennings. Louise was married June 12, 1943, to Robert Glenn Lasley, and he preceded her in death April 15, 2003. They were the parents of two daughters and two sons.
Louise graduated from El Dorado Springs High School and attended the University of Missouri where she met her husband. She was an active helper to her husband in his insurance and real estate business. She loved to read and spent time as a volunteer for the Nevada Meals on Wheels program.
She is survived by two daughters, Janet Miller of St. Louis, Mo., and Mary Jo Litten of Nevada; one son, Robert J. Lasley of Lawrence, Kan.; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. Fran Rollins of Overland Park, Kan. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and one son, John David Lasley.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 5, at Ferry Funeral Home in Nevada with the Rev. Bill Platt officiating. Interment will be in El Dorado Springs City Cemetery in El Dorado Springs, at a later date.
