Nevada City Council to consider 2012 budget tonight

The Nevada City Council will be looking at a lengthy agenda for tonight's meeting at 7 in the council chambers in the Public Safety Building, 120 S. Ash St.

Among the items on the agenda is a public hearing on the 2010 Municipal Budget and consideration of a special ordinance approving the budget.

They will also be considering bids for crane service for the street department, fitness equipment and sewer improvement materials.

Other items on the agenda include a memo from the tourism board recommending the council hire a tourism director who will be a city employee under the direction of the city manager.

The council will also be holding the second reading of a contract with Jerry Burch for lobbying services for the city and an ordinance terminating an agreement with Vernon County for communications services.

Some of the other new items coming before the council include an ordinance releasing and concluding NID assessments on Lot 15 of Ashland Estates of Stutesman Realty Inc.; an ordinance approving a lease agreement with Dr. Rick Kellenberger for a lease at Nevada Municipal Airport and an ordinance approving a contract with Alliance Water Resources.

The council will also be considering the reappointment of Glenn Rogers and Dr. William Turner to their third full term on the Nevada Regional Medical Center board of directors and Steve Russ to his second full term on the NRMC board of directors.
