NHS swim team fares well at Webb City

WEBB CITY -- The Nevada High School girls swim team competed at Webb City on Thursday night.
Nevada sophomore Grace Reichard won the 200-yard freestyle with a state-qualifying time of 2:01.6. To qualify for state, swimmers must finish in 2:03.49.
Reichard finished second in the 100 butterfly with a time of 1:03.8, just missing a state-qualifying time.
Nevada's 200 freestyle relay team of Hunter Richmond, Megan Messick, Tayrin Schmitt and Reichard took first place with a time of 1:51.5.
In the 200 medley relay, Nevada's team of Messick, Schmitt, Reichard and Emma Denman finished second with a time of 2:07.5. Joplin was one second better.
Nevada's B team of Elizabeth Prewitt, Lize Smith, Richmond and Abbie Landoll finished 10th (2:31). Nevada's B team of Denman, Olivia Culbertson, Tori Chrisenberry and Rees Noble finished eighth in the 200 free.
Messick was fourth in the 100 fly (1:08) and third in the 100 backstroke (1:12).
Schmitt took fourth place in the 200 IM (2:39) and finished third in the 100 breaststroke (1:22). Richmond was ninth (2:50), Denman was 15th (3:11.6) and Smith finished 16th (3:11.8).
Landoll was 10th in the 50 free (31.25), while Noble took 12th (32.5). Chrisenberry was 18th, and Culbertson was 19th.
Richmond took seventh in the 100 free (1:08), while Noble was 19th, Culbertson was 25th, and Chrisenberry was 27th.
Prewitt finished 13th in the 200 free and also took seventh in the 500 freestyle (7:08). Landoll was 12th in the 500 free and Smith was 13th.
Nevada is scheduled to compete at the Ozarks Invitational today.
